Yeah...you read that right. A lovely 43 degrees F on MAY 31ST! If the sun doesn't show itself tomorrow I am going to...I don't know. I haven't thought of a good enough punishment for Mother Nature yet.
Anywhoozles, it was a busy day for this naturalist. Early in the afternoon I did my duty of cleaning Rusty the Turtle's tank. She seemed like she needed her home rearranged as well, so I went and found her a nice basking rock. TA DAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!
The process of cleaning however...not so enjoyable. Imagine all things disgusting that could be in a turtle tank...then add stairs...and sloshing water...and my face. Yep, it was wonderful.
Then after trying to eat as fast as humanly possible I headed out on my first Wildlife Caravan! Despite the cold we had a lot of fun and the visitors got to see quite a bit of wildlife up close and personal.
And then...off to an Evening Program in the freezing cold. While huddling in the "comfort station" for warmth trying to get the feeling back in my hands there was a tug-of-war taking place in my mind.
"It's so cold that no one wants to come to my program..."
"But if no one comes I get to leave!"
"But if I leave then I have to clean the bathrooms..."
And so it went until 9 PM came and went and not a soul for tents and campers around wanted to spend their night outside in the freezing cold. Ah well, such is life. Well, I better continue downing my nice warm pomegranate Emergen-C so I can fight off this cold that keeps trying to work its way into my life. "Ain't nobody got time for that!"
